Hey folks:
I'm recording a new blues CD. For grins, I attach a photo of me looking more like a blues guy than every. Anyway, check out my facebook site for updates on that. Unfortunately because of royalties issues, I won't be able to upload songs from that here. But I will see about trading out some of the songs here for others that I can share. If you get a chance, besides checking out facebook to keep up with new developments, check out my CD "Changing World" on Youtube. For now, maybe have a listen to "Welfare Checks" if you haven't heard it or haven't heard it for a while. Thanks all for your support! Best, Darrell

Hey all!
Thanks for listening to and sharing my songs. I've been getting nice messages from a few of you, too. I really appreciate that. If you haven't listened to "Welfare Checks" yet, you might have a listen. It's been doing well on the Florida Americana and Blues charts.
For any of you in South Florida: It'd be great to meet you if you can join us for a show at the Zen Mystery Cafe in Dania Beach next Friday. I'll play for an hour beginning at 10:15 (expired link). I'll be joined by the amazing South Florida artists, Jack Shawde, on guitar, and Diane Ward, on drums. The cafe is a cool little place with great food and craft beers. $10 cover. If you can make it there, please introduce yourself.
Best all!

Hey all! Happy New Year to you!
I have resolved this year to to read some good poetry for inspiration and write some new songs. Dylan Thomas is the first poet on my list. If he's good enough for Bob, he's good enough for me. And I'll be interested to see where the inspiration leads. In any case, for now, I thought I'd promote an older song that I more recently put up on N1M and that I'm happy to say has made it to number 1 in the Florida Folk Rock charts here. Since most of you know my Americana genre songs, it occurs to me that some of you might not have heard this one--somewhat differently classified. I leave you with a quote from Thomas below. Hope you enjoy. And have a beautiful day and new year!
Poetry is what in a poem makes you laugh, cry, prickle, be silent, makes your toenails twinkle, makes you want to do this, that, or nothing, makes you know that you are alone in the unknown world, that your bliss and suffering is forever shared and forever all your own.

I'm happy to announce that my new CD, Changing World, is now available at CD Baby. This roots rock, Americana album features ten songs that thematically run the gamut from existential thought pieces to love and lost-love songs, all with gripping vocal hooks, grooving rhythms, and layers of guitars, wondrous guitars.
“Changing World” is being officially released this Sunday, 11/19/17, at the Luna Star Cafe, in North Miami. (The show is free show and starts around 6:30pm). Jack Shawde produced the album and plays multiple instruments. In addition to Darrell’s vocals and acoustic guitar, the album features a stellar cast of South Florida musicians: Diane Ward on drums and background vocals, Matthew Sabatella on bass and background vocals, Max Farber on keyboards, and Sarah Jacob and Lynn Bobby on background vocals. It is recorded, mixed and mastered by Luciano Delgado(Looch) at Miami Beach Recording Studios. Everyone hit it out of the park! We would love to see you Sunday, Nov. 19th at the Luna Star Cafe, for the album release party! Today you can already purchase the album at CD Baby!

I'm very pleased to have now sent off the audio of my upcoming CD, Changing World, for production. All South Florida folks: we hope you can join us November 19 at the Luna Star for our CD release party. And tune in for us on the Michael Stock show on November 12. Thank you so much to Sarah Jacob, who did much of the artwork for the disc itself, including the sketch you see here (L'homme avec un hat"), and Rose Gargiulo (Imagine Media Concepts), who did the CD and cover design. William Cordova painted the gorgeous piece featured on the CD cover, which you can see in a later post. The music production is of course primary: Jack Shawde did an amazing job as producer and guitarist extraordinaire. Diane Ward lent her breathtaking skills to the drumming, percussion and background vocals. Matthew Sabatella was a monster on bass and great background singer. Max Farber was phenomenal on keyboards. And there are further great vocal background performances by Sarah Jacob and Lynn Bobby. Finally, there was the recording, mixing and mastering by Looch at MBRS. Thanks to you all. I'll get some songs up here in November!

Hey all:
Just wanted to thank you for the support here. My song "Man Among Men" has been number 1 in the Florida Americana charts this week, and number 20 in the Global Americana charts because of your interest and your listening. Thanks for that! If you haven't heard it, have a listen. Lyrically, it might interest some of you. Otherwise, there's the great work of the rockin' band joining me.
I'm happy to also let you know of some more progress on my upcoming CD, Changing World. We've final mixes for 7 songs and have only 3 more to do. We'll likely finish those this week, then do final tweaks and mastering. I've got a mid-November CD release concert planned in Miami. More on all that later. The cover art that I've attached here is generously made available to me by William Cordova, a great Miami artist. Check it out.

Hey all:
I'm happy to send you an update that my CD Fish Out of Water is now available at CD Baby. (Thanks to Rose Gargiulo for the CD cover, and of course Klaus, Guido, and Sven, the fabulous musicians who played on it.) This very rockin' little production was never launched on the market but was only available on various sites for streaming. I'm very happy to now have it out there for sale. Many of the songs from it are on N1M, so I hope you've been streaming them. If you'd like to take the e-version of it for when you have no broadband, then check it out at (expired link).
We're now also finishing the mixes for the new CD in Miami. We've got final mixes for five songs--five more to go. We're very excited about this, and I hope to be able to share some of it soon. I'll send updates next time. Or, like my facebook page and keep updated there: (expired link)
Finally, for any South Florida folks--be sure join us at the Luna Star Cafe in Miami next Thursday. I'll be accompanied by some of the amazing people who play on the CD, Jack Shawde, Matthew Sabatella, and Diane Ward. Come on out!

Hi folks:
Just want to thank all of you who have signed up for the mailing list, liked or shared my songs. You've helped make my song Love Come and Lost number 1 on the N1M Florida charts for Americana, and number 4 in their global Americana charts. Thanks a bunch!
Update on the CD: we've finished tracking for the upcomg CD, Changing World. We have our mixing dates for August. As I mentioned, great South Florida musicians have joined me on it, including Jack Shawde, who is producer and guitarist. Jack has played with Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Bo Diddley, and many more. He's nearly a living legend here in South Florida. So I'm especially happy he's produced it and is regularly playing with me, along with Matthew Sabatella and Diane Ward (a woman who I'm not sure how many times has received accolades in South Florida for have the regions best live performing folk rock band). They're all awesome.
Anybody in South Florida: Come join us at the Luna Star tomorrow night (Aug. 27). I'll do two sets there, along with a set with the Sarah Jacob Trio. It's sure to be fun. Good beer, good food, cash bar!

Hey folks:
I've added some more songs to N1M. I'm still working on the new CD, but have put up some older music, mostly from "Fish Out of Water," a CD I made with the Buffalo Fish, my band in Cologne Germany a number of years ago, but that has only ever had a soft release. If you like what you've heard here so far, I think you might like it. Of all my recordings, it has the most Americana vibe. It was a rockin' little band from Cologne, with some of the area's homegrown finest: produced and engineered by Klaus Marner (also on drums), Guido Lehmann (guitar), and Sven Franssen (bass). Hope you enjoy! And hope to hear from you!
For you South Florida folks: If you're near the Miami/Hollywood area, come see us this Saturday at the Zen Mystery in Dania Beach. Good music, healthy food, great drinks! It's sure to be a good time.
Cheers all!
