Gary Veneble
PercussionistGary’s drums have that pounding, penetrating, big airy, vibe, that drives the rhythm section of Dali's Watch. His and relentless style reminds one of the legends like Ginger Baker and Billy Cobhmam. His execution of the complex timing and arrangements of the songs, is simply masterful. Gary is almost Canadian, hailing from the border in Eerie, PA. He is a lifetime musician, having started on saxophone, then switching to percussion in highschool. After a variety of local cover bands Gary joined the band Curious, and toured the mid-west, Japan, and the Virgin Islands. In the early 90s Gary was the drummer for Doug and the Cyclones, featuring Doug Yancy of Molly Hatched and Robin Trower fame. Gary played with a variety of dance, R&B, and fusion bands before forming Apothecary in 2005, a fusion band, with Mike Galway bass, Jeremy Cubert keyboards/Chapman Stick and Anna Koropchak violin. The band released their self titled album "Apothecary" in 2006, then "Not Just Loud" in 2009, and "That's What You Get For Talking," in 2014. Gary also founded the Blues Ramblers with a CD Release, “Life Goes On,” in 2014. Gary currently plays in Dali’s Watch, Apothecary, and the Blues Ramblers.
Mike Galway
Bassist SaxophonistMike's bass playing can best be described as a freight train driving through your chest, but with the beautiful precision and finesse of a scalpel. Few are strong enough to handle the 15-string bass, but he does so without breaking a sweat. As you struggle from the whiplash of the pounding fury of the huge handed 15-string madman, in a flash it is gone, with the smooth soulful sound moans of a fretless bass. His mastery of bass is unique, and it is this mastery that glues together the dynamic sound that is the signature of Dali's Watch. Mike was born in Germany, a military brat with a love of music at his core. Mike began playing piano at age 4, followed by violin in grades 1-4. He moved to alto saxophone for grades 4-12, then baritone saxophone grades 5-11, and finally oboe for grades 11-12. Throughout his school years Mike played/performed in various chamber music groups, concert bands, marching bands, pit bands and jazz bands. He traveled and performed in Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Hawaii. In college Mike picked up bass guitar and the tenor saxophone and has continued to play bass across jazz, fusion, and rock bands ever since. After college Mike played bass with various punk, cover and country/blues bands in Maryland. He then formed Zapotec, a fusion band with guitarist Bill Curtis and drummer Rocky Cancelose. The band recorded the album "Not of Sound Mind" in 1995 with guitarist Bill Curtis, drummer Jim Sullivan and violinist Anna Hubble. The band then recorded the album "Alfa Century" in 1998 with guitarist Bill Curtis, Chris Mack Drums, Anna Hubble Violin and Jeremy Cubert Keyboards. Mike Formed Uncle Gut in 1997, a punk/metal/fusion band with guitarist Michael Pizza and David Grollman drums. The band recorded the self-titled album "Uncle Gut" in 1999. The band went on to release "Uncle Gut Live at Orion" in 2000, and a second self-titled album "Uncle Gut" in 2000. The band followed in 2001 with the album "Fat 50" in 2001. Mike then 2001 Joined Cerebus Effect, a fusion band, with Joe Walker guitar, Patrick Gaffney drums, and Dan Britton keys. In 2002 they released the album "Dark Matter" and in 2005, “Acts of Deception.” In 2001 Mike formed Dysfunctional Family, a fusion band, with Rocky Cancelose drums, David Grollman drums, Shawn Persinger guitar, Pete Laramee guitar, Michael Pizza guitar, Kevin Lewis bass and Greg Hiser violin. The band released "Dysfunctional Family" in 2001. In 2005 Mike formed Apothecary, a fusion band, with Gary Venable drums, Jeremy Cubert keyboards/Chapman Stick and Anna Koropchak violin. The band released their self titled album "Apothecary" in 2006, then "Not Just Loud" in 2009, and "That's What You Get For Talking," in 2014. In 2010 Mike formed Dali's Watch, an alternative/progressive/grungy/rock band with Mic Wynne guitar/keys/vocals and Gary Venable drums. The band recorded "Breakfast Serial" in 2013/2014. In 2012 Mike formed Intentional Train Wreck, a metal/fusion band, with Patrick Gaffney drums, and Pete Leskop guitar/vocals. The band recorded "the Accident" in 2014. Mike currently plays bass in Dali's Watch, Apothecary and Intentional Train Wreck.
Mic Wynne
Guitarist Keyboardist Mandolinist Production Management VocalistMic's guitars sound is one of complex and unusual chording, and soulful, skillful soloing. His sound and style is often dark and haunting, with great dynamic shifts between acoustical passages, and distorted pounding bliss. His voice is equally as haunting moving easily from deep below the earth to soaring high above the clouds, and back. He develops beautiful melodies and then colors them further with layers of harmonies. His sounds and compositions are unique causing most to think what a beautiful and mad mind he must have. Mic Wynne was born in New Jersey, a military brat, moving throughout his childhood. Both his mother and grandmother had large organs in their houses and played and sang songs, fostering Mic’s early interest in music. Mic learned to play the organ by ear, recreating songs he heard his mother and grandmother play. He moved to Southern California in the fifth grade and got his first guitar shortly thereafter from a swapmeet; an old abused acoustic. Like he had with the organ, Mic learned songs by ear he heard on the radio. When he discovered rock he pursued getting an electric guitar, which required him to work odd jobs for neighbors to earn the money to buy one at the swapmeet with a combo amp for $60. His parents felt strongly, and correctly, that if he worked for it, he’d cherish it more. This solidified a life-long passion with guitars and music. Like most musicians Mic was in a variety of cover bands beginning in the sixth grade, covering the great music of the 70s and early 80s. By college he was playing in established regional bands on the nightclub circuit such as Jaded Heart, 1986-1989. He developed the speed and finesse chops of his guitar heros of the 80s and appeared on multiple R&B and pop music recordings, providing shredding guitar solos, as Eddie Van Halen had done with Michael Jackson. He did guest appearances for several of these acts at arena-sized venues. Mic studied classical theory and guitar from 15 through college, and taught classical and rock guitar as well, for many years. In 1990 Mic was in a near-death automobile accident as a passenger, being ejected from the vehicle as it cartwheeled down the highway. Mic sustained a serious head injury and right hand injury, with his thumb severed completely and fingers and wrist crushed. His left hand sustained deep lacerations as well. Mic withdrew from bands and recordings to re-learn how to play guitar with severe limitations in his right hand and then concentrated on writing songs and learning new styles of guitar playing, such as jazz. In 2008 Mic was asked to record guitars for a punk project. Having been in guitar seclusion for many years he entered the project with great reservations. The existing tracks were quickly scrapped and Mic wrote the music for 12 new tracks, and lyrics for 11 of them, played guitars, keys and sang the lead vocals, for the 2009 release from Disease Within, “Killing Time.” Killing Time was a Thrash Metal inspired record with complex time signatures, best described by one magazine as a Grungy King Crimson. This album was very successful for an independent release, with radio play and interviews around the world, magazine articles and reviews, and a tour in 2010. An industry legendary mastering engineer compared the music to the raw, impactful and original sound of Nirvana. With band member changes and new material that took a more progressive/alternative/experimental hard-rock direction, Mic formed Dali’s Watch with Mike Galway bass, and Gary Venable drums in 2012 with the outline of 12 songs. In 2013 and 2014 the band recorded “Breakfast Serial,” with Drew Mazurek mixing and mastering, and was quickly signed by Ravenhurst Records.
