Dear Music listeners
Here’s an interesting little report about our music sales.
Due to many mail requests we had put our album back for sale on all major music stores and streaming sites approximately five month ago.
Up to now, we have sold ONE album on iTunes, and it’s my girlfriend who bought it. Our sales report is uploaded in the picture section.
That’s a good laugh and actually fine with us, since we lost the illusion some time ago of ever earning any money for all the efforts invested into music production.
And this is actually what we observe all around us in the music scene. Many very talented bands we knew that have had gigs in front of thousands of people have eventually split up after a couple of years of existence.
The reason is simple: those guys have to earn some money to make a living. And when all bandmembers take a job, it becomes just to difficult to coordinate three or often more bandmembers for rehearsals.
Creating music is a time consuming process. At some point you ask yourself the question if you want to have a private life or not.
Music distribution has radically changed with the internet and everyone, just like us, can sell their music and have control over revenues. But the reality is that it is still the major labels who make the big bucks (don’t believe them when they say they don’t) and who decide what is heard on Radio and TV worldwide.
What we have today is a huge amount of young bands creating and distributing really good music. But eventually, they die after only a few years while Madonna is still around.
This is why we’d like to give the advice to support young bands financially by buying their music. Not specially ours since we rob banks and old ladies to finance our tracks.
By the way, you can download our complete album for free on a dot ru website. Just google our bandname and you’ll find it.
Thanks to everyone listening to our stuff. We still find it rather cool to know that it’s been played around the world…
