I am enjoying the experience of Cathy Varna's vocal control. The peaks, the valleys. I really like the way she rides the melody. The drama in the musical arrangement is so intriguing. A very easy listen this is. La Pluie Sur L Hiver...Bravo! Even the ending was sweet. I see a romance born within this melodic tune. I see writers creating award wining novels. A glass of white wine, a plate of fruit and cheese, good company. I hear a soundtrack selection here!

Ok..great piano and voice.. First part of the tune sounds a bit like "My Way" by Frank Sinatra. But the tune is all together quite nice and well produced. Could be a nice one in the "Eurovision Song Contest".

Cathy's has a powerful voice that lends itself well to this song. The piano and orchestra blend well with her style and the song sounds like something out of a movie soundtrack. If I understood the language, I would have more to say, but the song in itself is beautiful.

This woman has a vital, strong vocal presence. She's halfway a belter and halfway a torch singer. Even if the lyrics in French elude you, the stirring passion of her delivery is powerful. If I had to compare her voice to a singer, it would be a cross between Bette Midler (the belter) and Patricia Kaas (French torch singer. A rousing song.

I really like they way you build this song up! Almost like an Anthem or a torch song. I read the translation to English but love singing in the native Language French. The end has a nice buildup of parade drums then a nice landing. This arrangement is really good and you voice comes through very convincingly! I am happy to do this international review of La Pluie sur L'Hiver by Cathy Varna & Patrice Guerrucci. It is a nicely crafted song with lovely vocals, orchestration, and well produced. Some of the lyrics are just outside my 'high-school French' from some 50 years ago here in Canada, but what I got from them is a slightly sad but positive message of the typical feelings one would have if it were raining on an otherwise winter's day. I predict you will enjoy it overall, as with the rest of Cathy's published repertoire.
