Song Reviews

great

In some ways, music is a lot like literature. It can be pleasing, enlightening, even life-changing. A great song, like a great book, affects the listener in unanticipated ways and resonates long after the music has ceased. And, if done well, both music and literature have a rhythm and tone unique to their authors; you wouldn't confuse a passage from a Charles Dickens novel with one fromaHarry Potterbook, nor would you mistake a verse from "A Hard Day's Night" for one from a Lady Gaga song. But how do you describe your favorite song? How do you put its melody into words or explain the beauty of its chords? How do you begin to describe the emotions that it provokes in you?As the maxim goes, "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture." In other words, despite the similarities between literature and music, conveying sound through text is a challenge, even for the most talented of writers.

Uplifting fun retro Song

This song is delightful. It is very whimsical in the beginning and reminds me of many old school 60's-70's bands, from Mama'Mama's and the Papa's to the Beatles. The harmonies are great and the uplifting nature many me very happy. I could see this in a musical for sure. Perhaps the artist can do an entire rock show, that'd be great. This song could be where the main character goes out to experience a different life they always wanted to try. A coming of age sort of.

Review

I like the tempo, it feels fun and upbeat, the guitar is awesome, I like the vocals and delivery. The timing is spot on and the way you sing to the music is interesting and mysterious. I really like the song, I can see myself having a good time with this song playing in the background. Keep up the good work

Really love this it jumped right out of my speakers what a full mix. I just love the harmonies not much more I can add as I feel this song sets the bar for perfection.....Keep up the good work Bruce.

Echos of Artists

This song carried me back to the days of the Beatles and many other artists were busting the charts in the USA. Enjoyed the feel and the 60's style beat which drives one to want to shake and dance. Thanks for sharing your talent..

Good Stuff, Maynard!

A refreshing retro return from the current crop of digitized drum machine sounds and over-weaning effects - catchy Brit pop a` la late '60s, early '70s, and lyrics that appeal to every young man of a certain age and angst.

POP GOES THE MUSICAL SOUNDS!!

This has some aspects of Magical Mystery Tour...and other thowback Brit Pop sounds...but, interestingly enough, it also can be somewhat compared to Panic At The Disco and other such Steam Punk type sounds...Bruce does a good job of styling his music and reaching back to frame the sounds. If you like this type sound you should dig his work...ROOM WITH A VIEW is an interesting piece..Check this out..it may just fire your desire for a little retro Brit Pop or even get you to listen to some Steam Punk to see if you agree with my thoughts. Either thought is worthwhile if you have an OPEN Musical mind..Keep up the work Bruce, you have a style!!

Nice

This is different and very interesting. I like the combination of sounds and how everything blends together. It sounds presidential rock and Poppy at the same time. It kinda reminds me of the Beatles almost. I love my own tunes too.

A proper rocking ode to the British Invasion influence

Helpful

When the British Invasion pop music led by the Beatles happened, it took me and millions by storm with great vibes! Besides all the other groups of the day that were influenced and provided influence, it went on to directly affect the Todd Rundgrens, the Knacks and the Raspberries of America as well as their own next generation of groups like Electric Light Orchestra and The Squeeze with change ups in chords, rhythms and melodies. This was all embellished with creative production, sweet vocals and harmonies. This is a great example of a cross-section of all these attributes. Well done! Thank you for getting IT!
