Hello To All Who've Taken Time To Listen & Sign Up On This List:
I'm writing to let you know how much I appreciate your doing so and to ask, if you feel like it, to send me a message letting me know where you're from and what song or songs you enjoy the most.
In this extended period without touring, it can get to feeling a bit lonely here at home. ;-)
Thanks again and best wishes for better times ahead....
Greetings Music Lovers & Makers!
I'm writing to thank you for joining my mailing list and to let you know I've added four new, rough studio out takes this week from the forthcoming album: Rocky's Cafe, 'Lover Boy' (attached), Givin' Me The Slip and 'When The Big Day Comes'.
These are the basic building blocks of the recording process, with much to be added and reference only vocals (meaning a mumbled word of two and less than stellar performances ,-)...which I thought some might find of interest as a window into my recording process.
I've also attached a recent interview regarding my approach to songwriting, both my own process and what I share with others songwriters via Listening Room Consulting sessions and the Listening Room Retreats.
I truly appreciate your interest and support and wish each of you a healthful, happier year ahead...
As always, thanks for listening and please feel free to write with any comments of questions.

Studio work continues here in Copenhagen for the 'Back To The Source' Pawnshop Preachers album, with numerous 'honorary preacher' guest players, a wide cross section of musical styles, and inclusion of a couple longtime favourite co-writes which will finally find a wider audience: 'I Love What You've Done With This Place' (w/ Tom Kimmel 2011) and Rocky's Cafe (w/ Kim Sonders 2009).
The wonderful artwork is a Lino cut print by Danish artist Pernille Sand, based on a photo by Swedish photographer Jannica Hermansson.
You can preview the latest studio out takes, rough mixes and live performances of several of the tracks here on N1M, including 'Back To The Source', 'I Just Want To Stay In Bed (With You), 'Settlin' For Somethin' In Between', 'Lover Boy', 'I Love What You've Done With This Place', 'Roller Coaster Ride', Rocky's Cafe, 'Unforgettable Two' and 'Love Is Attention/A Tension'
Enjoy and let me know what you think! (I answer every mail I receive....)
The Pawnshop Preachers is the band your brother wants to join, your girlfriend doesn’t trust and your mother warned you about.... The sound is pure Americana, blending Brett Perkins California Country style and lyrical phrases culled from his family’s Kentucky hillbilly roots.Read more
