Brenda Gill / About
Brenda has a creative spirit that manifests itself in various mediums. During her years at high school, Brenda was involved in Theatre Arts, Creative Writing, (poetry) and Fine Art as well as extra studies in piano, voice, and painting. (scenery)
Brenda graduated with a B.A.. in Music from the University of Guelph, where she learned to compose music and continued to write poetry as well as paint. Brenda has also been composing music and lyrics and poetry and singing for several years.
“Pipe Dreams” (released in 2005) is a collection of beautiful melodies that haunt the soul and strike a resonating chord within the hearts of hearers.
Written for the piano with strings’ accompaniment, all the music on this c.d. has been composed and performed by Brenda. “Shadow,” “Embers.” “Sailing’” and “Fairy Tale” are favorites.
“Blackbird Pie” (released in 2006) is a more upbeat c.d. with more instruments. All the music is completely composed and performed by Brenda. “Popcorn” is a favorite, as well as “Sandpaper.”
“High Tea” (released in 2007) is musically more developed, with a variety of different styles. “The Pale Portal” is a favorite.
"Feathers and Bones" (released in 2007) consists of some new material and some favorites that were previously recorded, this time with vocals. Lyrics and music written by Brenda Gill. Performed (all parts) by Brenda Gill.
