JAMES BROWN SHOW :=0
On 8/28/68 James Brown put on a Huge stage production in Dallas at the Memorial Auditorium . There were about 32 people in his band , backup singers , dancers , announcers , managers , Big double rows of horn players , two drummers etc. WOW. This was a racially charged time and a big film company was set up to shoot it as a movie. Through my High School's ROTC I was the HEAD USHER in charge of about 20 kids that was the main crowd control and ushering . I sent them all out in position. T H E N the show started. James at his best. People started dancing in the aisles all over. I called a meeting to not stop anybody from dancing and just hang out . We did and saw the wildest gig of all time . We took off our usher arm bands , jackets and helped the crowd boogie and have a good time. NO FIGHTS , thrown trash etc. Just a big big crowd of his fans having a great day . I'll never forget it. The movie was produced and shows the raw energy James had and how the crowd responded . HE WAS THE KING THAT DAY.
