All I Need. New music notes.
Hey New Lampers,
Just posted a new song, All I Need, reflections of my travels to London.
Here's a bit of back story.
I always try to have my eyes wide open when I visit a new place, to observe what seems different.
I wasn't planning on things being too uncomfortable going from the States to London, but I captured my collection of initial oddities in this song.
First, I realized that the pocket full of dollars that made me feel valuable, was suddenly worthless. And I had to get quickly acquainted with bills and coins that looked, well... foreign. I can now better understand having seen newly arriving passengers to the US offering $300 for a candy bar. All that money and conversion stuff takes a bit to process.
No EXIT signs in London, they are instead marked WAY OUT, which seemed like a 60's holdover.
The London Underground subway, nicknamed The Tube, has the "Mind the Gap" warning stencilled about every 6 feet on the platform floor. (i also found that, unlike the NY subway, the closing doors DO NOT pop open on the Tube when you try to jam something between them. They just haul off with your umbrella or briefcase. Good to know.)
And, at the time I visited, the reloadable Tube card was called an Oyster Card, and every shop, convenience store, news stand offered to "Top Up" (reload) your card.
Anyway, trying to capture first impressions which, unfortunately, quickly fade into familiarity.
Hope you like! Thanks for your support and patience. Getting these tunes on iTunes and Spotify soon. -Arnie
