Que legão!! This reminded me of being a young ballerina. A song that can bring you to reminisce is a powerful thing. Very pretty and meaningful. I understand Portuguese so I’m talking about lyrics and music. Thanks for sharing.

A Ballerina

This music reminds me of riding on a circus Carousel with music playing. It sounds like a childhood memory of attending the ballet. I like the tempo of the song and the sound of this peice. It sounds like a folk ballad. I enjoy the old time musical instruments I wish you could sing it in English so I could understand the lyrics. I would love to know the instruments played in this piece. It reminds me of the harpsichord. I liked it very much. I hope you will translate to English also.

Tiptoe and Twirl

Hello Anibal! I love the waltz sound of your danceable song! I can see two people dancing to the tune! The musical arrangement is very pleasant and endearing. Perhaps a bit of compression on the vocals would be beneficial. Maybe an instrumental moment to change the sound a little, but all in all I love your song. It is very pleasant and I can see it being played in the streets of Portugal while people mingle and perhaps join in too!! Thank you so much for sharing The Dancer with me! Have a beautiful day Anibal! Rachel :-)

Great Sound Recording!

The music is very reminiscent to the Nutcracker and although I don't know what the lyrics mean, I enjoyed the melody and the duet. This song took me to another place and time. Thank you for sharing.

Excellent arrangement and production

Anibal Raposo's recording of "A Bailarina (The Dancer)" is a delight for the ears. The introduction evokes images of a music box, a merry-go-round, a calliope, and a circus, all in a few measures. The heavy bass line, and the rich, forward-mixed baritone voice of Mr. Raposo, give the song a little bit of a burlesque and in-your-face quality, like the elephants dancing in Walt Disney's film, "Fantasia." It would be interesting to know if this was intentional, but the lyrics are not available. In any case, it adds to the playful quality of the piece overall. The entrance of the second voice, which appears to be female, is a refreshing surprise. The arrangement does a nice job of building the energy and adding listener interest as the piece progresses, with the gradual introduction of brass, and later drums. The production and mix are done expertly, although I think I would dial the vocals back just a touch. It is a pleasure reviewing works by this artist.

What a wonderful surprise!

It was a great pleasure to hear this song. I appreciate this male bass voice followed by the kind female one. These mature voices give the children the opportunity to realize that we can play and dream our entire lives. The arrangement reminds traditional music boxes providing a perception of an imaginative time. The lyrics is poetic and sweet. *As a Brazilian, I also appreciate listening to it in a beautiful Portuguese different than mine. Congratulations!

A bailarina (the dancer) review

A bailarina (The dancer) is a sweet little waltz! After listening three times and although I don't understand Portuguese I could feel a beautiful story about a girl and her love for dancing. The melody is very soothing and has a music box feeling with a hint of circus. The production is very good and the male and female vocals work well together to give the song a nice balance. I am sure this song should be well received as a children's song in Portugal or wherever Portuguese is spoken :). Peace and good luck on your musical adventures.
