Richard Nanan

Richard started his musical career at the tender age of 7. He was trained at the Walters School of Music and Ann Marie’s Piano School in San Fernando. At the age of 15 years, he started playing the keyboards, and have been making rapid strides ever since. He also plays Bass Guitar and is one of the lead vocals of the band and have trained members to play other instruments. Richard has been on numerous tours with the band from 1987 – 2019 especially to Suriname, Toronto, Montreal & even played for the Mayor of Brent at the Royal Albert Hall in London with Sundar Popo. In 1999 he visited Guadeloupe as part of a Cultural Exchange program and continues to tour North America & the Caribbean including Guyana. Richard has arranged and produced the music on CDs for Terry Gadraj, Sita Panday, Sheila Basedo in New York and for Rakesh Yankaran, Molly Ramcharan, Sookraj Indar, Rasika Dindial, Marva Mc Kenzie and many more artistes. Richard is a very versatile musician, the Band Leader & Musical Arranger and now also responsible for music production out of the Band’s recording studio (RN Studios) where he’s been responsible for producing more than 60 singles from 2012 – 2021. His AndazUnplugged CD spunned a numberof singles that made the top 10 on some of the local radio stations. For him the sky is the limit.
