The Original 007: "John Dee"

John Dee

Believe it or not, I'm a historian of Mystic Men. I love to research and learn about the Mystic Men of the past. Like the first James Bond. In 1555 John Dee was arrested for "calculating". Yes, there was a time when it was illegal to do math. H'wat black magic wizardry. Although he was more than a mathematician. He was also a skilled astrologer as well as most definitely a magician. His father had been bankrupted which completely sucked because that was the money he was depending on living off of. Not much hope for a man back then, illegally slanging math. But John Dee didn't spend any time crying about it. He inquired to the Queen's palace to be funded in creating a library amongst the book burning going on, this way to preserve the "allowed" knowledge at least, and he was granted his funding. He quickly became noticed by the Queen, Queen Elizabeth the 1st, who had herself made too many enemies amongst the pope's church and needed a handy man who knew the lingo to be her source of intel. So she enlisted him as a spy, to gather intelligence for her. But they needed a way to ensure that their secret letters delivered to each other were of course - from the right person. John Dee signed all of his letters to the Queen under "007" - due to his signature already sort of looking like that. The Queen, in return, signed all of her letters to John Dee, with - "Q." Does anyone else but you and I know this nowadays? Very few would know this information as it's been buried deep into the past. Surely the only ones who would know this, would be those whom the universe deemed worthy. If you seek, you shall find. Unless of course the seeker is not yet ready.

 :scream: :smirk:  :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :rage: :disappointed: :sob: :kissing_heart:  :pensive: :confounded: :flushed: :relaxed: :mask:  :broken_heart: :expressionless:  :weary: :triumph:  :sleepy:
