Hi there, people. I'm sorry to say that the beginning of this year has been one of unfortunate happenings. My mother managed to contract bronchitis and pass on over to the other side. Death in the family is not pleasant - the amount of paperwork and such is quite astonishing, having to deal with Government Officialdom, Solicitors and Estate Agents. A week after that, my wife managed to pick up Covid on a train journey cause by some miserable mask-free carrier. Before she knew about it, I was testing positive as well. The last ten days or so have been a bit of a struggle trying to cope with the oceans of mucus that this bloody virus causes. It's now the end of February - I hope to be able to pick up a guitar soon and resume songwriting. I hope to put up some new music shortly.
In 1977, I wrote a song that was very popular in the UK and Europe call ed "Do anything you wanna do" by Eddie and the Hot Rods. This was a forerunner of the Hot Rod's first tour of USA and Canada. We played many famous venues such as the Whiskey a Go Go in LA and NYC's CBGBs and Max's Kansas City to support the release of our vinyl LP "Life on the Line" - see attached poster graphic. Many videos on YouTube feature this song.
I've recently found an old demo that I wrote when I was playing with Eddie and the Hot Rods. I've re-recorded it to take advantage of a nice Bo Diddely beat and I've decided to put it up on here to see if you people like it. It's still only in rough demo form, but I'll see how it goes down with you all. Thank you all for your attention to my work and I hope you are all able to get out and dance/ listen to live music now the Covid epidemic has lessened in its intensity.
I've been doing music for so long now that I've forgotten that many of you (in my network) don't realise that I wrote songs and performed with Eddie and the Hot Rods and the Kursaal Flyers in the 70s touring in the USA, Europe and the UK. For a fuller description of a musical adventures, you should pay a visit to my website ((expired link)) where you can listen to my latest songs, look at many more photos and, if it strikes you, download mp3s and buy my solo CDs G2 and Eclectic.
